Diabetes is a leading cause of blindness, amputation, heart disease, kidney failure and early death. Simple action can reduce the risk.

There are two types: Type 1 and type 2.

Type 1; A chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin.

It typically appears in adolescence.

Type 2; A chronic condition that affects the way the body processes blood sugar (glucose).

With type 2 diabetes, the body either doesn't produce enough insulin, or it resists insulin.
